Summer School Bishop Style

“Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood.” –  Fred Rogers

Not pictured in our summer school curriculum:  swim,  Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood marathons, weekly movies, lunch with Daddy, making jello, crafting, and going on playdates. We love summer!

  1. Never stop learning and never stop having that childlike nature enjoying lots of play and fun. A philosophy that has served me well. But it would be awesome to have an entire summer off to do it! Looks like everyone is having a blast 🙂

  2. That sounds exactly like what summer should be. I interviewed an elementary school principal for a story about the summer slide and she said one of the most beneficial and educational things kids need over the summer is unstructured play time. She was right in line with Mr. Rogers. Great quote!
